Subtle Bodywork

Karen practices subtle neuromuscular healing, based on SMRT.

This non-invasive modality can alleviate chronic pain, and is gentle enough for anyone. This therapy is recommended in particular for that which has been resistant to other forms of treatment.  It has the potential to alleviate bony misalignment as well as issues with muscles and connective tissue.

While the practice is hands-on and done on a massage table, you will remain dressed, so please wear something comfortable. Since the treatment sends messages to your nervous system which continue for up to 3 days, you may feel better instantly, or you may find yourself pain-free after a nap or the following morning.

Karen is a licensed massage therapist, trained in many traditions, from Swedish and deep tissue, to Thai and Kurdish massage.  She has found over the years that making subtle suggestions to the body can allow radical instant and lasting change, by encouraging the body to heal itself.

To have a session in your location in Vail, pricing is $180/hour.  A session in Karen’s home studio is $120/hour. Please give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation, or there will be a full charge.  Pay by venmo @karene-vail or if you prefer to pay by credit card, you can do so here:

Karen is wildly talented with a subtle touch. She has helped me increase mobility and range of motion through different injuries. Karen creates a supportive and healing space and her method is gentle and effective.

What I like best about the SMRT technique is that it works! I have issues with hyper-flexibility, and often have subluxation of my ribs and right shoulder. This results in deep, continuous pain that is not relieved by traditional massage.

SMRT eliminates my pain, releasing muscles and ligaments and allowing my body to relax and return to a proper alignment. The benefits are immediate and extraordinary.

SMRT is a gentle, extremely effective technique, and Karen is an excellent practitioner.
